I am a Principal Cloud Solutions Architect with more than ten years in software engineering, seven of them in AWS platform engineering, security and DevOps. I hold four AWS certifications, including Solutions Architect Professional and Security Specialty, and contribute to AWS Certification exam development as a Subject Matter Expert. I design and deliver multi-account landing zones, zero-trust network perimeters, production Kubernetes platforms, multi-region disaster recovery and agentic AI platforms for enterprise and regulated clients — a European institution, Volkswagen, a global gaming publisher, an FCA-regulated fintech, public-sector utilities and IoT companies.
Since 2025 I have worked independently, first through Aspect Solutions in Portugal, usually embedded as the principal architect inside a client's platform or consulting team. In October 2026 I founded Kumokage GmbH in Zürich, the consultancy through which I now take on new engagements. I care about ownership boundaries, least privilege, change management that engineers actually follow, and designs that survive a live failover drill.
I am also an author. My memoir Honor Bound was published by Simon & Schuster in 2012, and Un passo fuori dalla notte by Longanesi in 2015. Off the clock: manga, long walks and gothic architecture.

The person behind the code
Born in Bari, raised in Giovinazzo, educated in Perugia and Verona. I have lived through events most people only read about; they taught me patience, the value of evidence and the cost of standing by the truth. I bring the same determination to systems that have to protect, scale and endure.
